Amanda Etheridge is an ordinary woman, a closeted lesbian, working at an advertising agency in New York City... at least until the huge project she was in charge of fell apart through no fault of her own... at least until a huge project she was responsible for collapsed through no fault of her own. As a result, the former workaholic was put on paid vacation, but what would she do without a job? Her boss advised her to go out, meet new people and broaden her horizons....

Guided by the sweet sounds of country-style songs playing on the radio, she heads to Nashville alone. Reluctantly leaving her old life behind, she arrives in this colorful, musical city and hears an angel whisper, "Hello, Nashville. Would you like to hear a love song?".
